CHOICE BOARD
Introduction
During my sign language class, our assignment was to create a choice board for someone we knew, and I designed a board based on a boy in grade 4. He was a nonverbal and diagnosed with autism from my placement at the York Region school board in semester 3 of my program.
Summary
I designed it using Boardmaker, and it was a "What I Feel" board to help the student communicate the emotions he felt and allowed him to be understood. I created various images of emotions, and laminated them, while adding velcro to the back to be easily placed on the board.
Core Competencies Demonstrated
This assignment allowed me to showcase Strategic Planning and Showing Respect to Individuals.
